Florida is called the fishing capitol of the world becuase it offers amazing bass fishing and saltwater fishing all over the state. The bass fishing in Florida is world-class, often producing trophy bass over 13 pounds. There are an abundant range of lakes and rivers all around the state that offer amazing bass fishing.

RODS

Heavy Rods are often the go-to for Florida fishing.

Medium action rods are often too light for Florida. Because of the abundant vegetation, heavy and extra heavy rods are often used to winch big bass out of heavy cover.

REELS

Florida fish require tough tackle.

Most bass anglers in Florida use "baitcasting" reels. (Shown in pic.) These kind of reels hold heavier line that is required for these strong-fighting Florida fish.

BAITS-SOFT PLASTICS

Soft plastics are a good choice around vegetation.

Soft plastic baits are rigged on a hook and often used with a bullet style sinker. These rigs can be fished in and around grass and are effective when the fish are buried in the thicker cover of the body of water. There is a massive variety of soft plastics on the market.

BAITS-HARD BAITS

Hard baits include crankbaits, topwater, wakebaits, etc.

These baits feature treble hooks and almost always mimic baitfish. Largemouth go crazy chasing after these thinking it is their next meal of baitfish.
