About smite

Smite is a third-person multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game developed and published by Hi-Rez Studios for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In Smite, players control a god, goddess, or other mythological figure and take part in team based combat, using abilities and tactics against other player-controlled gods and non-player-controlled minions. The game has multiple PvP modes, many playable characters, and has a successful esports scene with multiple tournaments, including the annual Smite World Championship which has a large US$1 million dollar prize pool and is hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

1ST SEED: Team EnVyUs

Established in 2007, Team Envy is one of the most storied eSports organizations in the world. In addition to being a perennial pro gaming powerhouse, the team is also known for their sportsmanship, integrity and philanthropy. On October 5th, 2015 team EnVyUs jumped into the NA SPL by picking up the dominate AFK Gaming. EnVyUs is a reputable organization that knows what to look for while scouting for top talent. Their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team is arguably the 2nd best team in the world and always produces results with highlight reels. The former AFK Gaming roster is shaping out to be the same championship caliber as their Counter-Strike counterpart. So far in 2015 this lineup has achieved great success (1st place SPL s2 Spring Finals & 3rd place SPL s2 Summer Finals, totaling $45,000 in winnings). And by already qualifying for the SPL Season 2 Fall Finals, we'll find out shortly if the newly branded EnVyUs squad will maintain their prosperity.

2ND SEED: Team Eager

The core of this team has dated back since the beginning of competitive Smite, back when they sat at the top for quite some time. After facing many roster swaps and hardships, Eager found themselves in the Challengers Cup, a long fall from the top. Winning nearly every single week in Challengers Cup, they swept their way back into the SPL through the expansion process to fight for the top once more. Team Eager is an organization formed by the previous Team Dignitas in order to create their own brand and image.

3RD SEED: Cloud9 G2A

Cloud9 is a long standing organization with strong teams in multiple games, Counter Strike and Hearthstone just to name a few. They had previously gone with a European squad, but have moved back to North America to pick up the roster that won the SMITE World Championship. The team has a high level of execution, but struggled in the Spring Split, only placing third and missing out on the Spring Finals. They’ll have to battle their way back if they want to be at the top during the SPL Summer Split. On January 26, 2015, COGnitive Prime became Cloud9 when the team was acquired by Cloud9's owner, Jack Etienne. No roster changes have been made in this transition.

4TH SEED: Team SoloMid

With such a dominant first season in the SPL, the Team SoloMid roster can only be disappointed in their third place finish at the SMITE World Championship. Heading into Season 2, TSM managed to once again place first in the North America Spring Split and second at the Spring Finals. With a team full of superstars filled with LAN and online experience, expect them to continue having a drastic impact in Season 2. Team SoloMid is a North American eSports Team, created around the community website SoloMid.Net by brothers Andy "Reginald" Dinh and Dan "Dan Dinh" Dinh and in September 2009. Team SoloMid EU would win the Smite Launch Tournament. They disbanded in November 2014 after failing to qualify for the Smite World Championships. On March 6, 2015 COGnitive Red became Team SoloMid when the team is acquired by this organization.
