Bass fishing is one of the most eciting and rewarding hobbies, and being relatively inexpensive, anyone can pick up a rod. Growing up in Central FLorida, where lakes and ponds are scattered everywhere you look, and a drive to the ocean means an all day trip that puts a dent in your wallet, bass fishing is the preferred passtime of many outdoorsman including myself.
I will share with you the tips and tricks that I have gathered to help you set the hook on a lunker, or at least make others think you did, and hopefully encourage others to give it a try.
Bad days, they're gunna happen
Every fisherman knows that some days the big ones just wont get on the end of your line, but social media need not know. Using a handy tool like the clever angler above or just simply stretching your arm as far as possible will instantly gain 4+lbs.
The ones that work
So many variables go into choosing the right lure and narrowing it down can be overwhelming.
Braid is best
Unless the lake you are fishing is insanely clear, braid will work better than mono or fluorocarbon. There is much less line memory, it is way thiner, and unlikey to break.
Get there quickly, fish there quietly
This is where bass fishing can get expensive, but if you are tired of paddling, walking, and wading, it will get you to the hot spots.
